{"id":15057,"date":"2025-06-25T17:05:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T17:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diamondleague.com\/?p=15057"},"modified":"2025-06-24T22:15:03","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T22:15:03","slug":"russell-amusan-and-camacho-quinn-face-off-in-eugene","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diamondleague.com\/russell-amusan-and-camacho-quinn-face-off-in-eugene\/","title":{"rendered":"Russell, Amusan and Camacho-Quinn face off in Eugene"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Olympic champion, the Wanda Diamond League champion and the world record holder will lock horns in a showstopping women&#8217;s 100m hurdles line-up at the next leg of the Wanda Diamond League in Eugene on July 5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The USA&#8217;s Masai Russell, Puerto Rico&#8217;s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and Nigeria&#8217;s Tobi Amusan will all be in the blocks at the Prefontaine Classic next month as the Road to the Final continues in one of the sport&#8217;s most unpredictable disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Russell is the reigning Olympic champion after her stunning win at Paris 2024 last August, but is still waiting for her first Diamond League win after a series of near misses last season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Camacho-Quinn, who won bronze behind the American, is a seasoned campaigner in athletics&#8217; premier one-day series: she has claimed 14 Diamond League wins since 2019 and secured a long-awaited first title in Brussels last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amusan is a three-time Diamond League champion, having held the title from 2021 to 2023, and the current world record holder with 12.12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eugene&#8217;s Hayward Field is where Amusan set her world record in 2022, and also where she secured her last Diamond League title the following year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nigerian is currently second in the 2025 Diamond League standings, while Camacho-Quinn and Russell are both yet to get points on the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With current standings leader Grace Stark having dominated the early season, Eugene is a chance for three of the hurdles&#8217; biggest names to restake their claim to the favourite&#8217;s tag ahead of the Wanda Diamond League Final and the World Championships later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About the Wanda Diamond League<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wanda Diamond League is the elite one-day meeting series in global athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field.
