{"id":1551,"date":"2018-03-21T09:39:13","date_gmt":"2018-03-21T09:39:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diamondleague.com\/london-world-record-holder-coleman-confirmed\/"},"modified":"2018-03-21T09:39:13","modified_gmt":"2018-03-21T09:39:13","slug":"london-world-record-holder-coleman-confirmed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diamondleague.com\/london-world-record-holder-coleman-confirmed\/","title":{"rendered":"London: World record holder Coleman confirmed"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Now established as one of the biggest names on the international circuit following two world medals in less than 12 months, Coleman left his mark on the global stage with world 100m silver at last year\u2019s IAAF World Championships in London, with his time of 9.94 just 0.02 shy of claiming gold, while his time also saw edge the great Usain Bolt into bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Stepping into 2018 in the same groove, the 22-year-old became the most talked about athlete of this year\u2019s indoor season as he smashed the 60m world record in Albuquerque, USA, before then going on to take world 60m gold at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham earlier this month.<\/p><\/div>\n<div>Now with the indoor season behind him, Coleman will prepare to appear at July\u2019s M\u00fcller Anniversary Games, the first of two UK legs of the IAAF Diamond League series, where competition is expected to be led by a number of the world\u2019s quickest sprinters.<\/div>\n<div>Additionally, and based on numerous world records at previous editions of the meeting, the London Stadium\u2019s reputation for having a quick track is sure to build the sense of anticipation when it comes to seeing how the world\u2019s quickest man over 60m fares on his return to the capital.<\/div>\n<div>Speaking on confirming his attendance at July\u2019s M\u00fcller Anniversary Games, world 60m champion and 9.82 seconds 100m man Christian Coleman said:<\/div>\n<div>\u201cI\u2019ve enjoyed some really special moments in the UK in what has been a really short period of time, so to come back over and live that London Stadium experience once again will be huge.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cWhile I haven\u2019t competed at the M\u00fcller Anniversary Games before, I do have some pretty special world championship memories from last summer and winning silver in the 100m, so to get back out on the start line at the best athletics stadium will be something special.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Reminiscing further on his world silver in the London Stadium last summer, Coleman added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were pockets of USA fans all around the stadium and the atmosphere was just incredible; to have so many people there in support was crazy.
