Norwegian superstar Karsten Warholm will launch his bid to regain the Diamond Trophy with back-to-back appearances in China at the opening two meetings of the 2025 Wanda Diamond League season. <\/p>\n
Warholm will race at both the season opener in Xiamen on April 26 and the Shanghai\/Keqiao meeting on May 3, as he looks to make an explosive start to the new Diamond League campaign.<\/p>\n
Still the world record holder with 45.94, Warholm has seen his one-time dominance challenged in recent years as he and rivals Alison Dos Santos and Rai Benjamin have pushed each other to ever more unfathomable speeds in the one-lap hurdles.<\/p>\n
Diamond League champion in 2019 and 2021, the Norwegian will be hoping to launch another bid and claim his first series title in four years when he returns to athletics’ premier one-day series this year.<\/p>\n
The series will be a key indicator of form as he prepares to defend his world title at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September.<\/p>\n
“I’m really looking forward to racing in front of my Chinese fans,” said Warholm, who has not appeared at either Xiamen or Shanghai\/Keqiao until this season.<\/p>\n
The Wanda Diamond League is the elite one-day meeting series in global athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field.
