Rai Benjamin will return to the site of his 2023 Diamond League title win when he headlines the men’s 400m hurdles at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene on July 5.<\/p>\n
US star Benjamin enjoyed the finest moment of his Diamond League career so far at the series final in Eugene in 2023, clocking a meeting record of 46.39 to get his hands on the Diamond Trophy for the first time.<\/p>\n
He returns to the Prefontaine Classic in 2025 as strong favourite, following a dominant campaign across all major competitions last season.<\/p>\n
Benjamin won gold in the 400m hurdles and 4x400m at the Olympic Games in Paris last August, just a few weeks after he claimed a statement victory over long-term rivals Karsten Warholm and Alison Dos Santos at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Monaco.<\/p>\n
Now the second-fastest man in the world behind Warholm, the American will be eyeing a first world title and a continuing his quest for the world record in 2025.<\/p>\n
The Wanda Diamond League is the elite one-day meeting series in global athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field.
