Valarie Allman will make an early step in her bid for a fifth successive Wanda Diamond League title when she lines up in the women’s discus at the second meeting of the season in Shanghai\/Keqiao on May 3.<\/p>\n
Olympic champion in 2021 and 2024, Allman has dominated the Diamond League in recent years with four back-to-back titles and 13 individual victories.<\/p>\n
Another triumph in 2025 would see her equal shot put legend Valerie Adams’ tally of five Diamond Trophies, making her the joint-second most successful athlete in the series’ history behind Colombian triple jumper Caterine Ibarg\u00fcen and Croatian discus rival Sandra Elkasevic.<\/p>\n
The American star has good memories of China from the start of her successful title bid last season, when she claimed back-to-back wins in Xiamen and Suzhou, including a Xiamen meeting record of 69.80m.<\/p>\n
The Wanda Diamond League is the elite one-day meeting series in global athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field.
