{"id":6601,"date":"2025-04-27T14:12:17","date_gmt":"2025-04-27T14:12:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diamondleague.com\/?p=6601"},"modified":"2025-04-27T16:54:05","modified_gmt":"2025-04-27T16:54:05","slug":"omega-moment-of-the-meeting-warholms-world-best","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diamondleague.com\/omega-moment-of-the-meeting-warholms-world-best\/","title":{"rendered":"OMEGA Moment of the Meeting: Warholm&#8217;s world best"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was no shortage of world record breakers when the 2025 Wanda Diamond League kicked off in Xiamen this weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faith Kipyegon, Mondo Duplantis and Yaroslava Mahuchikh all returned to Diamond League action at the Egret Stadium having broken world records in the series last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet this time around, it was Karsten Warholm who rewrote the athletics history books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the final race of the night, the Norwegian star took the OMEGA Moment of the Meeting with a world best in the 300m hurdles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wanda Diamond League&#8217;s official timekeeper OMEGA clocked Warholm at 33.05, the fastest time ever recorded in the discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though the 300m hurdles is not recognised as a world record event, it was still a historic performance, with the Norwegian shaving 0.21 seconds off his own previous world best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I knew it was in my body to perform that, but you obviously have to do it,&#8221; said Warholm, insisting that he could go even faster when he runs the 300m hurdles again at the Diamond League in Oslo on June 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I tried it one time in June last year and that did not work out for me. This race was a lot better so I know I can do it.
